Pick up the special headphones and a map at Stadtcafe Ulrich, Südtirolerplatz 7, Krems.
Take an auditory tour through Krems with Christina Kubisch’s Electrical Walk. It will bring you to interesting electromagnetic hotspots. Special headphones allow you to listen to an invisible and surprising landscape of electromagnetic fields emitted by cash machines, security systems and other devices.
Christina Kubisch (GE, 1948) is a pioneer of sound art. She focuses on sound sculpture and sound installations that often involve ultraviolet light, solar energy, and electromagnetic induction. In 2003, she began the ongoing project Electrical Walks employing purpose-built headphones that receive electromagnetic signals from the environment and convert them into sound.
